How Do You Go About Finding A New General Dentist?

February 5, 2010

i have been searching on the web, but it has only made me more anxious and fickle. i am apprehensive about these things, but i need to see a dentist a.s.a.p. any special guidelines you use or do you simply take a chance on one based on reviews?

As IF above suggests, get recommendations from other people. Ask friends relatives, workmates… in fact ANYONE! In particular, ask around the area in which you want to find a dentist, like the local shops when you go to buy something or gas station, post office, newsagent, school teachers, … Local medical doctors are also a good source of knowledge.
A personal suggestion is always going to give better results than an impressive advertisement.

I would suggest calling your insurance plan and see who is contracted so u get charged in-network fees…U can look on line and see if the Dr. u choose has any complaints against them from the board…u just have to take a chance and see if u like them or not.

If you know anyone in the area ask for their opinions both good and bad. And then make your decision. If you don’t lik e the dentist after your visit find another. Good Luck
