I work in a dentist office, where the dentist who actually owns the practice doesn’t see patients or come into the office more than once a month. He doesn’t personally see what the staff does, how well they do their job, or what an asset they are to the practice. I feel that he doesn’t see how hard I work, and it was suggested to me by the dentist who I actually assist for, that I give myself a review and submit it to the owner. That way I can list all that I do, my good qualities and what a valuable employee I am. The dentist I assist for said that he will completely back me up, however he doesn’t make the decisions on raises. What do you think about an employee giving themselves a review when they ask for a raise?

I’m referring to whitening options from the dentist. My teeth aren’t badly stained, but the over-the-counter stuff wasn’t doing anything for me. I’m leaning towards laser because I’m afraid the chemicals in the gel trays getting absorbed into my gums. And which is better price wise? What are your thoughts?
